Air & Sediment Separator |
|
Application
Centrifugal Air/Sediment Separator is used to remove the dissolved air/gases or micro-bubbles
from closed or open hydronic, HVAC, boiler or other water/fluid systems. In the
process, it separates undissolved impurities as well.
Benefits
Removes dissolved air and microbubbles
- Insreases heat transfer efficiency
- Reduces chances of air lock efficiency
Reduces corrosion in piping and sludge formation
Sediment seperator removes impurities heavier than water
- Prevents choking of strainers - Prevents damage to pumps and other equipment

Principle of operation
Due to the tangentially mounted connections, the water inside the air separator is brought
into rotation. The rotation forces the heavy medium (water) against the wall of the air
separator while air is collected in the middle. The collected air rises to the top and
gets vented to the outside by the float vent.
Impurities heavier than water, such as sand, welding debris and the like are forced to
settle down at the bottom. These impurities can be removed through drain points located
at the bottom.
In the model with strainer, all impurities lighter or heavier than water are filtered.
Strainer can easily be cleaned by removing the bottom flange.
