Application
Pressure tank is used to smoothen out the pressure variation in hydronic systems.
In HVAC systems, it is used as a closed expansion tank and helps to compensate pressure variations
due to water volume changes with temperature variations.
In water supply systems, it is used as a hydropneumatic tank to maintain constant system pressure.

Principle of operation
The tank is made of mild steel and has a synthetic rubber membrane inside suitable for drinking
water applications. Nitrogen gas or compressed air is filled in the space between the
membrane and the walls of the tank. The gas being compressible in nature can accommodate
large change in water volume with minimal change in system pressure.
